It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Life Member and Past Chief Richard “Dick” Bilger Sr.

Dick joined Monkton Volunteer EMS (then Hereford Volunteer Ambulance) in 1970, proudly serving the community alongside his late wife, Life Member Hope Bilger. Over the course of more than five decades, he contributed countless hours as a firefighter and emergency medical technician, leaving a lasting impact on the Hereford area and beyond.

In addition to his service with Monkton EMS, Dick was a Life Member of Hereford Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Baltimore County Volunteer Firefighters Association Hall of Fame. His leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the health and safety of the community will never be forgotten.

Service details may be announced at a later time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bilger family during this difficult time.
